How to enable hibernate option in Windows 10

Hibernate is a good option if you are doing something important and due to some reason you want to turn off your computer but don't want to loose the active screen and other tasks in your computer. Because instead of turning off your computer, if you take it to the hibernate mode, you can get all the things back on the screen as it was before.
By default, hibernate option is not enabled in windows 10 but it is still there in Windows 10. All we need to do is just enable it so that it can appear with the power options. So let's see how to enable hibernate option in Windows 10:
  • Right click on the start button and click Control Panel.
  • In control panel, search for "Power Options" using the search bar of control panel.
  • After getting the power options in search results, click on it to open it.
  • After opening Power Options, click on "Choose what the power buttons do" option from the list options given in the left side of the power options window.
  • Now on the next page, click "Change settings that are currently unavailable".
  • Now on the same page, just look for the "Shutdown Settings" and check the empty box for Hibernate.
  • Now click Save Changes and that's it. You can see the hibernate option in the power menu.

Fix outlook 2016 error for Excel attachments : This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it
This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it : This is one of the most common issues which Outlook 2016 users are facing. Office 365 users have reported that after upgrading to office 2016, they are getting this error while handling with the excel attachments in outlook. Uninstalling and reinstalling office didn't fix this issue. Online and quick repair also didn't fix this issue.
Well, to fix this issue, you can use a small registry tweak which I'm gonna share here. Just follow the steps given below:
  • Open RUN by pressing windows and R keys together.
  • In the run box, type regedit and click OK.
  • After opening the registry editor, navigate to the location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PreviewHandlers"
  • Now in the right side panel, delete the string {00020827-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
  • Now create a new string and name it to {00020827-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
  • Now double click on the string and in the filed of value, type Microsoft Excel Previewer and click OK.
  • Now exit from the registry editor and open outlook and try to preview your excel attachments. It will not give any error messages.

Stop Windows 10 auto upgrade in Windows 7/8.1

Microsoft has already pushed it's Windows 10 upgrade to the users of Windows 7/8.1 and if we take a look in the microsoft community sites, users are upset about it because whether you want it or not, microsoft wants to you install this upgrade in your computer by forcefully pushing it through windows updates. Several users have reported that their PC crashed after installing this update and they have lost their files because they had to do a clean install of their Windows OS.
Later on, Microsoft said that the upgrade was pushed by mistake and they are working on it to make sure that it doesn't get installed automatically in the PCs of users. But now it seems that they are not leaving any option for the user, it's like "Get it now or you'll get it tonight". Now the question is that what will the people do whose computer is not compatible with windows 10 and what if they don't want to use windows 10 or don't want to buy a new computer?
Well, just for those who don't want to get windows 10, I'm sharing a tool which can stop the upgrade to windows 10 and can get rid of that Get Windows 10 icon also. If you don't want to use a third party tool, then there is one more way to disable this upgrade using a registry tweak but the registry tweak might not stop this upgrade for long time so it will be better if you use the tool "GWX Control Panel".

1. Disable windows 10 auto upgrade and remove GWX icon from taskbar using registry tweak:

  • Open run by pressing windows and R keys together.
  • Type regedit and click OK.
  • Registry editor will be opened. Now navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Gwx"
  • Now right click in the white area in the right side and create a new REG_DWORD and name it DisableGwx and set it's value to 1 by double clicking on the name of the dword.
  • That's it. Exit from the windows registry and restart the computer.

Remember that it's not the permanent solution because microsoft will undo this change of windows registry by installing some other updates.
